❗️November Consumer Prices

  • We were updated on November consumer prices. Heading into the CPI data batch, the Bloomberg survey median expected the U.K. and Sweden figures higher than their previous, Canada headline CPI was seen unchanged. The latter saw its central bank updating its inflation mandate, the RBC desk saw the BoC's new mandate staying unchanged. As we got the inflation readings, U.S. headline prices rank the highest in the G10 group, and is the most extended to the upside from its central bank target, November CPI at 6.8% Y/Y. The U.K. also extended above the BoE's target and surprised consensus at 5.1% Y/Y, accelerating from a previous 4.2%
