🧮Hedge Funds Increase Net Long Dollar Position: Cable FX Macro

  • Fast money players built their net long dollar position this week, according to our calculations of the CFTC data. The broad dollar % of open interest increased to 4.9% this week, the most bullish since July. As of last week, hedge funds stand net short against all currencies except the British pound

  • There was a dramatic increase in the net short kiwi position, % of open interest dipped by 7pp to -10.3%, this is the most bearish hedge funds have been in the NZD in a year. While the pound remains net long, a sharp 6pp drop in the percentage of open interest was recorded, the position is now within its standard deviation band
