🧮Hedge Funds Increase Dollar Net Long to Highest In Five Years: Cable FX Macro

Our own calculation of the dollar net long position held by leveraged money saw an increase in open interest of 1.1 percentage points to 14.0%. Hedge funds' net USD long is now at the highest level seen in five years.
However, the data precedes the U.S. administration tariff announcements, with the most recent headline showing an easing of tensions between the U.S. and its neighbor countries.
While trade tensions may be delayed, the macroeconomic picture has not changed much, we're set to see the January employment data release for further colour
The largest changes in positioning were seen in NZD and GBP contracts, the former had a drop of 10.0 percentage points in open interest, and it is now marking a 5-year low stretched reading
