Our own measure of U.S. inflation surprises fell in March to -5.0, this extends the declines seen in February. The month prior, the index dipped by the most since September
March headline inflation surprised to the downside, however, the actual-consensus difference was below one standard deviation
The core metric came in line with the consensus, we have not seen upside surprises since January, before that, September
On an absolute basis, the Cable FX Macro U.S. Inflation Surprise Index is now at the lowest since November
