Euro Area headline prices jumped to mark a new record in the series at 7.5% Y/Y, median estimate was 6.7%. The core figure, which measures less volatile items and excludes energy prices, missed estimates and printed at 3.0% Y/Y.
On a Y/Y basis, energy recorded a 44.7% rise, food and alcohol increased by 5.0% and services increased by 2.7%
Netherlands joined the double-digit group rising 11.9% Y/Y, Lithuania led the nations' increase at 15.6% Y/Y. The slowest reading was recorded in Malta at 4.6% Y/Y
