🇺🇸UoM Sentiment Index Rises, Inflation Expectations Fall

  • 5-10yr inflation expectations fell to 2.8% in September, 1-yr inflation expectations declined to 4.6%, the former is the lowest since July 2021

  • September UoM Sentiment Index climbed to 59.5 from 58.2

  • Expectations for prices at the pump to rise stayed unchanged, off highs seen four months ago

  • Big ticket purchase sentiment stayed unchanged across vehicle and house indexes, however, the report signs these remain weakness in intentions to buy durable goods
