The Bloomberg financial conditions index tracks broad stress in the money, bond, and equity markets. The series dipped in later January and was close to turning negative, a sign that financial conditions are tightening. However, this week, the index recovered lost ground to finish at 0.71. When compared to EU and U.K., conditions here seem to be far more accommodative than in the U.S.
