The March jobs report showed leisure and hospitality adding 49K jobs, the largest monthly gain since October. The shutdown-sensitive sector is now back to pre-pandemic levels
Services jobs remain strong as the figure extends gains from the prior month, the March metric at +180K (low-pay) is above the one-year average of 143.7K
High-pay services jobs stood below 1y average in March and manufacturing came in flat
The unemployment rate ticked lower to 3.8%, as expected. The participation rate rose to 62.7%, the first uptick since November
