🔻🔺S&P 500 Index Leads G10 Equity Markets In July: Cable FX Macro

  • Quick snapshot to global market movers in July. The S&P 500 Index led equity markets on the month, the benchmark posted gains of 4.1%

  • The U.S. equity benchmark posted its 5th consecutive month of gains, the longest winning streak since 2021

  • The risk on trade was filtered into FX markets as a gauge of the dollar saw the largest losses on the month, gains were led by scandies as the NOK posted a rise of 6.0%

  • In commodities, Brent and WTI rose by 14.9% and 17.1%, respectively. A commodity index constructed by Bloomberg rose by 5.8% on the month, this was its best monthly performance since March 2022
