🇺🇸❗️March Core CPI Seen Above Headline For First Time Since 2020: Cable FX Macro

  • The BLS will release its March consumer prices report on Wednesday, April 12 at 8:30EST (NYC), 13:30 GMT (London) 14:30CET (Frankfurt), 06:30 CST (Mexico City)

  • Economists' expectations see further CPI declines in March, the Bloomberg survey median pencils headline prices easing to 5.2% Y/y

  • Inflation stickiness has been seen in the core figure, which is expected to accelerate to 5.6% Y/y. If the figures come in line with forecasts, this would leave the core metric above the headline. The development is not seen since 2020 and preceded the inflation crisis which led to a multi-decade high prices
