While our growth forecast has long been below consensus, we believe fears of declining economic activity this year will prove overblown unless new negative shocks materialize. Expect the U.S. economy to grow at an annualized rate of 2.8% in 2Q on-quarter, and an average growth rate of 1.6% over the following four quarters. Indicators measuring demand, business activity and the labor market suggest a deceleration of economic growth, but we do not see a contraction in the short-term. - Goldman Sachs
