China's power usage grew 5.9% in March, faster than the first two months of the year, indicating that the overall recovery of electricity consumption is accelerating, according to the Shanghai Securities Journal reported.
Industry electricity consumption took 76.1% of the country's total power usage In March.
Power consumption in Q2 and Q4 will significantly increase, pushing supply to its limits, said the Institute's Ouyang Changyu.
Power shortages during peak hours could worsen if fuel supply is insufficient or the weather gets extreme.
