⚖️🇺🇸U.S. 1-Yr Breakeven Rate Now Below 2.5%

  • Expectations of one-year U.S. inflation now tick below 2.5%, this is off from +6.0% readings seen back in March. The 2-year BE rate now reads close to the lowest level this year, circa 2.7%

  • Break even rates have been trending down since the Fed started its tightening campaign earlier this year. July's inflation figures showed signs of easing, however, the Fed has signaled we're far from over and markets have continued to scale up rate hike bets

  • The 1-yr, 2-yr, and 5-yr BE rate tenors still see inflation above the Fed's target

Investing and trading involve risk. This includes the possible loss of principal and fluctuations in value. There is no assurance that objectives will be met. Do not risk capital that you cannot afford to lose.
