Leveraged funds increased net short positioning in NZD, AUD, JPY, and EUR (fig.4). The percentage of open interest in kiwi contracts declined by 5.7pp to -20.9%, the lowest since August 2020 (fig.3)
Bearish bets were trimmed in CHF and CAD, the former remains a little under its 5-year 1-standard deviation band, swiss franc short position is overextended but to a lesser extent vs the prior week (fig 2)
As it has been for the last couple of weeks, the British pound is the only reporting currency where leveraged funds hold a net long (fig. 1). The position was built this week as % of OI increased by 0.4pp to 3.0% and now sits at its 5-year average
