🇯🇵 Japan Dec. Headline Inflation Rises to 0.8% Y/Y

• Headline inflation accelerated to 0.8% Y/Y from the previous 0.6%. The core figure printed at 0.5%, unchanged from November, while the ex-food & energy metric eased further to -0.7% Y/Y from the previous -0.6%. On a monthly basis, the largest contribution was seen in the fuel and utilities component (+1.0% M/M and 11.2% Y/Y). Prices fell the most in apparel and furniture, both declined by 1.0% M/M.
