📊IHS Markit December Flash PMIs

  • All composite indexes declined in December preliminary readings, the largest slowdown was seen in the U.K. PMI, 53.2 vs. previous 57.7

  • Without getting much into the details of the release, the Germany preliminary figure showed composite slowing down to the lowest since June 2020 at 50 vs prev. 52.2

  • The broad European figures saw weakness, with the softening being most evident in the Svcs PMI at 53.3 vs. 55.9, composite printed at 53.4

  • The U.S. figures continued to be the most resilient, composite at 56.9 vs prev. 57.2, services at 57.5 vs prev. 58
