The Bank of England's Semmi-Annual FX Turnover survey showed U.K. average daily turnover hitting a record high of $3.27 trillion in April 2022, this was a rise of 19% from October
The largest increase was seen in FX options, jumping 43% vs the previous survey. Currency swaps were the only instrument to report a decline in turnover. In net dollar terms, FX Swaps continue to be the instrument with the highest turn over at $1.69 trillion/day
The dollar lead ticked higher with 89.8% of average daily turnover in April, vs the previous 89.1%. Euro and pound followed with 37% and 17% share of ADT, however, the latter saw a decline from previous 19.7%. Chinese Yuan ADT ticked up to 3.7% from the previous 3.0%
